Preparing for Marriage

These are group sessions-courses for individual couples are offered through PREPARE/ENRICH-see below.

This is a course for those planning to marry or recently married. The course covers family background, communication, conflict resolution, values and faith issues, intimacy and sex and planning for the future. It helps couples build on their strengths and to develop skills for dealing with difficult times. There is no pressure to share personal experiences in a group setting.

Cost:

  • $160 per couple if both employed
  • $85 if one employed
  • $65 if neither employed/students for 3 sessions (GST incl)

PREPARE Program-for individual couples

For couples who are married or considering marriage, the PREPARE sessions use an inventory based on extensive research to give you a clearer view of your relationship and how to build skills for solving relationship issues.

In these sessions you will respond to a series of statements and then

ENRICH/MATE Courses-for individual married couples or people 55+ who are planning to marry or retire

These courses use inventories based on extensive research to give you a clearer view of your relationship and how to build and expand your communication skills. In these courses you will respond to a series of statements and then receive feedback identifying the strengths and growth areas of your relationship.

After the Honeymoon-early years of Marriage

A short course for couples who have been married for a couple of years. This course helps you celebrate the good times you've had together, learn some strategies to cope with difficulties that might arise and spend some uninterrupted time planning your future. There is also time to relax and have fun.

Building a New Marriage

A course created for couples where one or both partners are re-marrying. This course is similar to the Preparing for Marriage course, but takes up the special issues for those that are remarrying.

Cost:

  • $180 for couple if both employed
  • $110 concession (GST incl)

A weekend course for couples of all ages to experience a strength-based learning experience looking at factors which help to build a healthy marriage and how to build these factors into their own relationships.
