Toolbox - Early Years

Want to be a great parent, and have heaps of fun with your kids? Love to create a terrific family team and be armed with practical solutions for the tricky bits? Toolbox is a series of relaxed informal parenting sessions run over 5 or 6 weeks. The focus is on making parenting a really positive experience.

This course covers different parent types, developmental stages of children, tools for engaging cooperation, discipline, making memories and being the parent your child needs.

This course uses the same philosophy as the course above, but provides sessions for parents of children aged 5-12 years.

Family Wellness-Survival Skills for Healthy Families

This is a 5 or 6 week course designed by Family Wellness Australia. It is a program that has been designed for parents of school aged children and has been running for over 25 years. The sessions teach patterns and skills that support healthy family life.

Love Tanks and ABCs

Are you looking for a fresh look at your parenting? Would you like some encouragement for the most important job in the world - being a parent.

Love Tanks and ABDs is an interactive Parent Encouragement course or session. In a fun group setting we cover the five love languages and how to us them in your home and other relationships

Can be tailored to one or more sessions and adapted for a wide range of ages.

D is for Discipline

The premise of this course is that discipline is not something we do to our kids. Rather it is a way of living that pro-actively trains children by example, practice, encouragement, respect, love and patience. D is for Discipline

encourages parents to work out family values and set boundaries according to their family priorities and child's developmental stage. It aims to help parents help their children become self-disciplined problem solvers.

Starting School - Getting your child off to a great start

For parents of children, who will be starting school within the next twelve months. A single session with an option of a follow up once the child has started school.

Through doing this course you will learn about:

  • The role of parents in a child's learning journey

Successfully run in schools in the Barossa (Term 4 2008).

Suitable for schools and kindergartens.

  • Setting your child up for learning (sleep and breakfast)
  • Tips for getting to school on time
  • In the Lunch box
  • Practical ways of preparing your child for school
  • Emotionally preparing your child and yourself for this transition

Making the Most of Life with 5-12 Year Olds

A half day course or a number of week nights. A session for parents, grandparents and carers. A variety of topics to choose from e.g. understanding children as they grow, working out the best ways of managing behaviour, talking with your child and sibling rivalry.

This is a popular course for schools and groups that introduces parenting issues.
